We pride ourselves in being a young person friendly practice.  Whilst we encourage young people to discuss problems with their parents we will respect your decision if you decide not to and we are happy to see you on your own or with a family member or friend to offer advice on any health matter.

Young Peoples Confidentiality Statement

At the Hawkinge and Elham Valley Practice, we respect that the duty of confidentiality owed to a person under 16, is the same as that owed to any other person. The staff at this practice will not disclose personal information without the permission of the patient, except in the most exceptional circumstances, where a patient is deemed to be at risk of serious harm.
