Women’s Health issues include the following. Please click on the relevant heading:


 

Cervical Screening

You will be called for cervical screening between the ages of 25 and 64. You will be called at 3 yearly intervals between the ages of 25 and 50 and at 5 yearly intervals between the ages of 50 and 64.

Please contact the reception to make an appointment for your test when you are mid-cycle.

You will receive results in writing within 6 weeks after your smear test.

Breast Screening

Women between the ages of 50-70 will be invited for breast screening every 3 years automatically.  If you have any queries about the programme please telephone the Breast Screening Unit, Kent & Canterbury Hospital – 01227 783000 .

Breast Lumps

If you are worried about a lump or any other concerns such as discharge or bleeding from the nipple please contact the surgery to make an appointment to see a doctor. 

The Practice operates a chaperone policy so please mention that a chaperone will be needed when booking the appointment.

Abnormal Vaginal Bleeding

Abnormal vaginal bleeding can include:

  • Bleeding between periods
  • Bleeding after sexual intercourse
  • Bleeding after the menopause (6 months after your last period)

If any of these occur please make an appointment to see either Dr Penny Sholl, Julia Davies, Nicky Johnson or Julie Wilkinson.

If you are concerned by abnormal vaginal discharge please make an appointment to see Julia Davies, Nicky Johnson or Julie Wilkinson.
