Highly Commended for and Regional Winner of the East Kent Excellence in Primary Care Awards

PATIENT SURVEY RESULTS

Patients visiting the Practice between November 2008 and January 2009 were asked to complete a questionnaire giving their opinions on a variety of topics concerning their experience of the Practice.  This helped us identify what we are doing well and gave some suggestions to help us improve our service.

ALL OF THESE RESULTS EXCEED NATIONAL TARGETS

  • 87.8% agreed that reception staff were friendly and helpful.
  • 73.5% were happy with surgery opening hours
  • 83.5% were happy to be able to make an on the day appointment to see a GP
  • 88.9% felt that the clinician listened well to what they had to say
  • 90% agreed that they were put at ease during an examination
  • 89.8% felt that the clinician demonstrated caring and concern
  • 90% felt that the clinician was patient with their questions and concerns
  • 87.7% felt that they were involved in decisions about their care
  • 90.7% felt that the clinician explained their problem and treatment clearly
  • 73.9% felt that they were better able to understand their problem or illness after their consultation

ACTIONS WE ARE TAKING

4.5% commented on lack of parking
We are planning to move to a new building which will have more space and ample parking

2.5% experienced difficulty getting through on the telephone at 8am
Our telephone lines are open all day from 8am to 6.30pm ensuring patients have the opportunity of booking an appointment throughout the day

7% wanted more evening and weekend opening
We are reviewing our clinic times and holding some pre-booked Saturday morning clinics.

15% wanted an increase in our advanced booking facility
We have increased this and continue to review take up of these appointments
