Appointments

It is appropriate to see the correct clinician for your condition. We have an experienced and well qualified practice team which includes doctors, nurse specialists, practice nurses etc.

There are a variety of ways in which to access the clinical team such as:

  • Surgery appointments
  • Telephone appointments
  • Email by special arrangements

The practice operates an ‘on the day’ appointments booking system for morning clinics, and a pre-booked appointments system for the afternoon clinics, these appointments can be booked up to four weeks in advance. Our telephone lines open from 8am. Appointments can be made by telephoning either Elham or Hawkinge. You are welcome to attend at either of the locations.

All patients with a long term condition will receive pre-booked appointments in specialist clinics and the majority of our nursing clinics are pre-bookable.

The surgery phones are switched off at 18.30 when South East Health (the out of hours service) comes into operation. The majority of late times are for pre-booked appointments only.

On the day booking procedure
In a medical emergency out of surgery hours please telephone South East Health on 03000 242424

We would appreciate it if calls, other than to book an appointment, could be made after 11am.

Please check that you actually need to see a doctor as there are many occasions when it may be more appropriate to see the practice nurse or district nurse.

Please cancel any appointment that you cannot keep.

If you require a home visit please telephone before 10am where possible. Home visits are available for patients medically unfit to travel to the surgery.

Patient care messaging

We are now able to text appointment reminders to patients who pre-book appointments up to one month in advance. To participate in this service please advise the reception staff of your mobile telephone number when you next attend.

Remember you need to tell us if you change your mobile number.
